HunterGatherer is a multi-disciplinary design studio, focused on telling its clients’ stories in ways that are artful, intelligent, elucidating, and sometimes funny. The studio is based in Brooklyn, NY and specializes in art direction, illustration, animation, branding and experience design. The studio is outfitted with a photo studio and a fabrication/model shop on site.
The studio has won awards from almost every major design organization and was included in the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Triennial: Design Now. HunterGatherer won a Webby and was nominated for an Emmy for the animated short “Circle Squared.” In 2011, their ‘Prius Goes Plural’ short won a Cannes Gold Lion.
In addition to running the studio, founder and creative director Todd St. John has served on the board of the AIGA/NY, taught ‘Design for Video and Film’ in the Yale School of Art’s graduate program, and exhibits and creates non-commercial work, products and furniture under his own name.
